BADM 539 - Research and Grant Writing Credit(s): 3 hours This course focuses on developing skills to engage in research, write persuasive and informative business documents, and create and deliver effective presentations. Students will have opportunities to work individually and collaboratively.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course:
- Students will develop an understanding of the sources of potential grants such as government agencies and private foundations and how to find and identify these opportunities.
- Students will learn to gather and organize required research information and data to support grant proposals.
- Students will learn how to read and understand grant announcements, effectively plan and draft grant proposals for effectiveness and success of selection while meeting all time requirements.
- Students will learn administrative and ethics procedures used when managing and overseeing grants awarded by governmental agencies.
