SCM 625 - Supply Chain Management Inventory, Warehousing, and Forecasting Credit(s): 3 hours This course emphasizes the dynamics of inventory management, warehouse operations, capacity planning, and managing multi-facility networks. Topics include inventory management systems, warehouse layouts and management, order-picking strategies, material requirements planning systems, and forecasting models and methods.
Upon Completion of this Course, Students will:
- Understand the evolution of modern warehousing and distribution centers and their impact on supply-chains
- Develop efficient warehouse layouts and flows
- Define appropriate picking strategies and technologies for different applications
- Perform inventory analyses to reduce costs, turn-over times, and losses
- Perform forecasts using popular forecast techniques
