• REOL 630 - Diagnosis of Reading and Writing Problems Credit(s): 3 hours
• REOL 533 - Teaching Reading in the Content Areas Credit(s): 3 hours
• REOL 633 - Literacy Leadership Credit(s): 3 hours

Continuous Assessment:

Entrance to University

1. Application to University
2. Master’s degree from accredited IHE
3. Cumulative GPA of 3.0
4. Three letters of recommendation
5. Signed copy of KY Code of Ethics
6. Valid teaching license

Entrance to Unit

1. Signed Kentucky Code of Ethics
2. Signed Character and Fitness
3. UC Contract of Understanding
4. Pre-test completed during first course.

Midpoint

1. Cumulative GPA of 3.0
2. Two favorable disposition assessments
3. Signed KY Code of Ethics
4. Signed Character and Fitness

Exit

1. Twelve hours completed at University of the Cumberlands
2. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
3. Two more favorable disposition assessments (4 total)
4. Six-year time limit not exceeded.
5. CA-1 Submitted to UC Certification Office
6. To submit for Literacy Specialist Endorsement, candidate must pass appropriate KY required Praxis II Exam.
7. Post-test completed.
