BIOL 404 - Bioethics

Credit: 3 hours
This course can serve as an elective for biology majors or minors. It is designed to introduce students to the field of bioethics. Through assigned readings and group discussions of case studies they will explore the history of medical ethics in a scientific and cultural context, the philosophical underpinnings of ethical decision-making, specific medical ethics issues, the politics of medical ethics, and how medical ethics problems are addressed in the context of science and culture.
