CHEM 332 - Organic Chemistry II


Credit: 3 hours
This course is a continuation of CHEM 331 . Further study of the chemistry of carbon compounds from a functional group perspective including nomenclature, properties, reactions and synthesis of conjugated dienes, aromatics, organometallics, alcohols, phenols, ethers, aldehydes and ketones, carboxylic acids and derivatives, and amines are covered. Mechanisms include electrophilic aromatic substitution and nucleophilic addition. Three lectures per week.
