EDUC 237 - Effective Teaching Practices Credit: 3 hours Candidates will understand the concept of pedagogy and learn to identify and implement research-based instructional strategies and methods in the classroom. Candidates will investigate pedagogy and practice lesson planning, assessment, classroom management, co-teaching strategies and best practice in pedagogy to meet the needs of diverse learners. They will engage in practical application of these concepts in their area of emphasis in the public school classroom through teaching lessons and reflecting on their experiences. Candidates will also observe and reflect on pertinent topics such as cultural diversity and technology in the pursuit of excellence in the field of education. Field Experience hours required. Prerequisite(s): EDUC 235 and SPED 233 Offered: every semester
