ITDS 333 - Big Data and Data Fluency with Python


Credit: 3 hours
Students will be introduced to the Taxonomy of Data with emphasis on structured versus unstructured data that may be available in text or media formats. Students will learn about database management systems, data warehouse and data marts, and other data repositories used for Big Data analytics. Students will learn how to analyze extremely large data sets to reveal patterns, trends, and associations. Students will learn about the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), Hadoop, MapReduce, YARN, Apache Hbase and other Big Data tools.
Prerequisite(s): ITDS 331, ITSS 131 , MATH 335
