PHYS 435 - Quantum Mechanics

Credit: 3 hours
This advanced course explores the postulates of quantum mechanics to include the application of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation to one-dimensional systems such as the infinite square well, quantum harmonic oscillator, and finite square well. The solutions for the three-dimensional, hydrogen-like systems will be derived and demonstrated to predict the hydrogen spectrum. As time permits, the course will also explore the formalism of quantum mechanics.
Prerequisite(s): PHYS 335
Co-requisite(s): MATH 430
