SPAN 434 - Spanish in the World Credit: 3 hours This capstone course leads senior Spanish majors through an investigation of the importance of the Spanish language in the world. It explores the historical and linguistic development of Spanish as a world language, examines lexical variations, and looks at the role of Spanish in international organizations and the media today. This course is required for Spanish majors It may also be taken as an elective by Spanish minors with senior standing or department chair approval. Taught in Spanish. Prerequisite(s): SPAN 231
