PhDAI 831 - Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing

This course introduces the foundational concepts and state-of-the-art techniques in deep learning and their applications in natural language processing. Students will explore neural network architectures such as RNNs, LSTMs, and transformers, alongside key NLP tasks like text classification, machine translation, sentiment analysis, and question answering. Through hands-on projects and real-world case studies, learners will gain the skills to design, train, and deploy advanced NLP models. The course emphasizes both the theoretical understanding and practical implementation of deep learning methods in NLP.
