Individual Intellectual Assessment Endorsement

Course Requirements: 12 Credit Hours
Continuous Assessment:
Entrance to the University: - Application to University
- Master’s degree in School Counseling from an accredited IHE
- Certification as a School Counselor
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Three letters of recommendation
Entrance to Unit: - Signed Kentucky Code of Ethics
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Signed UC Character and Fitness
- Signed UC Contract of Understanding
- Pre-test completed during first course.
Midpoint: - Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Planned Program on File
- Two favorable disposition assessments
- Mid-point Portfolio Check
Exit: - Required credit hours completed at University of the Cumberlands
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Two more favorable disposition assessments (4 total)
- Passing score on Exit Portfolio
- Post-test completed
- Field/Clinical Experience completed
- CA-1 Submitted to the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board if seeking certification
- To submit for an Individual Intellectual Endorsement, candidate must pass all exams required by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board.
The endorsement for Individual Intellectual Assessment Endorsement is issued by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board for a duration of five (5) years and may be renewed upon completion of: - Two (2) years of experience with administering, scoring, and interpreting
- Individual intellectual assessments as part of the job function; OR
- Three (3) semester hours of additional graduate credit in counseling, school
- Counseling, or intellectual assessments
If there is a lapse in the endorsement, additional renewal requirements must be met. The Endorsement for Individual Intellectual Assessment shall be valid for administering individual intellectual assessments to all grade levels in the schools of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. |
