BIOL 131 - Biology and Society Lecture


Credits: 3 hours
The Biology and Society lecture is a course for non-major students seeking General Education credit to meet the Scientific and Mathematical Reasoning requirement. It is designed to help students better understand Biology and develop science literacy by introducing core concepts and connecting them to everyday life. The content is broken down into sections that address key aspects of biology and incorporates examples of research-based applications for each. This course is intended for students who have a limited background in science. It may not be used to satisfy hours for the biology major or minor but will satisfy 3 hours of the required 4 hours of Scientific Reasoning General Education coursework. It is recommended that this course be taken concurrently with the Biology and Society Laboratory.
