CRJS 401 - Child Abuse Investigation


Credits: 3 hours
This course offers a basic instruction for students to help them understand the typical profiles of child abusers and the definitions of various forms of child abuse. This course will provide clarity of the definition of child abuse, also focusing on mental and physical abuse which is often difficult to prove in a court of law. This course will allow students to what they need to do to integrate the entire criminal process of investigating a child abuse/neglect case, starting with the official report, leading to the investigation (law enforcement and child protective services), which leads to the arrest and prosecution of alleged child abuse perpetrators. This course meets the general education outcomes for social and professional awareness.
