IECE 130 - Foundations of Early Childhood Education Credits: 3 hours This course is a continuation of the previous course (IECE-128) and provides an in-depth study of the foundations of early childhood history and practice. The theories of Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson, John Dewey, Jean Jacques Rousseau, and Lev Vygotsky, as they have impacted modern early childhood education practice, are explored. Candidates also study the Montessori, Emilia Regillo and Waldorf approaches to teaching, as well as the components of the High Scope Curriculum. Field Experience hours required.
