SPED 234 - Special Education Instructional Programs (P-12) Credits: 3 hours Emphasis is on the development, characteristics, and educational services of learners with exceptionalities (i.e., biological, physical, etiological, psychological, cultural, social, environmental, and educational characteristics). The services for learners with exceptionalities will address the continuum of services, roles and responsibilities, learning environments, and instructional strategies and models, including response to intervention, collaboration, and inclusion. The teacher candidate will be introduced to the specific components of an Individualized Education Plan. Teacher candidates will craft specific baselines and goals for students identified with a disability. Recommended to be taken fall of the sophomore year for those choosing a special education emphasis or specialization. Prerequisite(s): SPED 233 Offered: fall semesters only
