SOCI 131 - Introduction to Sociology


Credits: 3 hours
This course offers an introduction into the many current social work related issues facing the United States and the world today. The history of the social work field and the roles that professionals play are introduced to assist students with personal career exploration and professional growth. Social justice involves individual as well as social transformation, students will be introduced to different ways individuals experience diversity, oppression, and privilege. The course also examines social work perspectives aimed at creating a more just world. This course provides multiple perspectives about many social issues.
