NURS 240 - Fundamental Nursing III Credits: 4 hours This course follows the framework identified from the program philosophy using the major concepts of human being, health, environment/society, and nursing to provide patient centered care and clinical judgement in relationship to quality improvement and safety. The course follows a plan of study to identify specific health conditions of the respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and gastrointestinal body systems. Preventative, rehabilitative, and therapeutic aspects of these conditions are studied as well as the physical, mental, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs of adults and children experiencing these conditions. Integrated within the course is the professional role of the nurse in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and family to promote positive outcomes. Prerequisite(s): NURS 120 Co-requisite(s): NURS 242 - Fundamental Nursing Application III (4 hours)
