PSYC 342 - Psychology of Game and Competition Credits: 3 hours This course will examine a variety of cognitive principles involved in competitive activities. Psychology at work during play and competition will be the primary focus. This course integrates historical research into human play activity and current research into video gaming and its impact on individuals and society. Topics include motivation, addiction, fantasy escapism, conflict, aggression, reward, player prestige, and alienation. Prerequisite(s): PSYC 131
