WOLC 434 - Language in the World Credits: 3 hours This capstone course leads World Languages and Cultures students through an investigation of the roles the French and Spanish languages and related cultures play in the world today. Students will explore the development of Spanish and French as world languages, including the role of Spanish and French in international organizations and the media. They will finish the course with a capstone project demonstrating what they have learned over the course of their studies in World Languages and Cultures and the impact they expect this to have on their personal and professional lives. This course is required for World Languages majors and may be taken as an elective by World Languages and Spanish minors. Taught in English, with the option to complete projects partly in Spanish and/or French if students so desire. Prerequisite(s): senior standing or department chair approval
