OLCP 430 - Cross-Cultural Engagement

Credits: normally 3 hours but determined on a case-by-case basis.
Cross-Cultural Engagement may fulfill a portion of Section IV of the General Education curriculum. This course can be taken by a UC undergraduate who will travel abroad or has already traveled abroad for service to or study in a culturally diverse community, but who has not yet received academic credit for these travels. Through scholarly work such as research, presentations and portfolio building, students will intellectually, emotionally and spiritually examine the impact of their time abroad “to develop a critical understanding of the interdependencies of cultural influences as societies organize themselves and manage resources” (General Education Section 4 Intended Outcome). This course must be taken within 4 months of returning from travel.
