COOL 531 - Social and Cultural Foundations of Counseling


Credit(s): 3 hours
This course provides an understanding and application of the social and cultural foundations associated with school counseling. This course is also designed to emphasize various cultural factors, poverty, ethnicity, ageism and disabilities and how those factors impact and affect cognition, emotion, behavior and social interactions in both the school and community. Ethical issues related to multicultural aspects of counseling will be addressed as well.
