BUAN 673 - Data Exploration & Visualization Credit(s): 3 hours This course covers the fundamentals of data exploration and visualization. Students in this course will learn basic concepts of information visualization and exploratory data analysis techniques. The course explores basic techniques for getting data into a usable format and presenting it visually using various analytical tools. Students will analyze large datasets and effectively communicate their analyses through visualizations. Students will also learn basic visualization design and evaluation principles to create meaningful quantitative and qualitative data displays. No experience in programming is required.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Understand the foundation and characteristics of data.
- Develop an understanding of the processes, methodologies, and tools used to transform data into useful information to inform business decisions and actions.
- Assess data quality, transform data into a usable format, and compile and communicate analyses in persuasive visual reports.
- Select the graphical formats and suitable visualization techniques for a given problem.
